Home Study CE Course
This CE course provides an introduction or review of basic Chinese medical theory, including the Vital Substances (Qi, Blood, Shen, Essence), the Four Examinations, and the Causes of Illness. This course will be of most interest to practitioners of Asian bodywork therapy, including shiatsu, acupressure, and tuina and to massage therapists who want to expand their knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The Vital Substances are the most basic functional components that we work with when using bodywork, herbs, acupuncture, Chinese dietary therapy, and other interventions. Understanding the functions and disharmonies of the Vital Substances will assist therapists with their assessment and treatment planning.
The Four Examinations provide a framework for organizing complex information and observations about the client. The section on causes of illness reviews the many ways in which lifestyle choices regarding nutrition, exercise, and stress management contribute to health status. Course materials include 3 audio CD's and course manual.
