Professional Development Activities
(PDA's)
The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) requires re-certification every
four years. Diplomates must earn 60 PDA points during the
four-year cycle.
PDA's from continuing education courses:
A minimum of 30 of these PDA points must come from
Continuing Education. One hour of continuing education
study = 1 PDA point.
15 of these PDA points must be from the Five Branches:
Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Dietary Therapy,
External Qi Gong, or Asian Bodywork Therapy.
4 of the PDA points must be from Ethics or Safety.
The Ethics & Archetypes
home study course is approved for
NCCAOM diplomates.
Other PDA activities include teaching, research,
publication, clinical supervision, and related professional
activities.
