About Sunny.....
Sunny has been studying and practicing Asian bodywork and Oriental Medicine since 1987. She graduated from Purdue University and University of Michigan, with background in the natural sciences. She graduated from Blue Cliff School of Therapeutic Massage in Kenner, Louisiana in 1989. She is a Certified Instructor for the American Oriental Bodywork Therapy Association (AOBTA) and is approved as a Continuing Education Provider by the National Certification Board Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, (NCBTMB). She is known for her dynamic and inspirational teaching style.
From 1990 through 1993 she was official Sportsmassage Therapist for the Gayle Hatch Olympic Weightlifiting Team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She was an adjunct faculty member of the Nursing School of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah teaching manual therapies for nurses from 1995 to 2000. She was an adjunct faculty member at Salt Lake Community College teaching Anatomy and Physiology and Cell biology in 2002.
She completed a Master's degree in Education at Weber State University in 2004, with research in metacognition in adult learners. She was a presenter at the 1996 AOBTA national convention in Chicago, and travels across the country to do workshops and seminars in Oriental medicine and bodywork. She is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and is certified in Ericksonian hypnotherapy. She is Nationally Board Certified in Asian Bodywork Therapy by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Currently Sunny lives in the Twin Cities area, and serves as Director of Education at CenterPoint Massage & Shiatsu Therapy School in Minneapolis. Workshops in Asian bodywork, Oriental medical theory, and Teacher Training are available. Her other interests include digital photography and old-time fiddle and banjo music.
